Submission

My work centres heavily on the strength of the individual within a crowd, the notion of character, and my experiencing this as an individual living in such a densely populated city. All my portraits are spontaneous. I literally encountered that person in that setting with that light and asked them if they'd mind me taking their photograph. For this is what drives my work; the holy trinity of character, location and superb quality of light. Sometimes, however, the city itself is the character.
