For years Mexico has been seen as a beautiful beach resorts destination; however, outside of the confines of its resorts and proximal areas, it is perceived to be an unsafe, violent, and corrupt country. The unfortunate opinion that many have about Mexico due to stereotypes and bad media keeps people from seeing Mexico for what it truly is: a beautiful country, rich in culture, mouthwatering food and loving people.
During my time in Mexico City and Guanajuato, it was the public display of romantic and tender affection that visibly contradicted the negative reputation the country has.
Mexico is for Lovers is a series of images that serves two purposes: to demonstrate the loving and tender nature of the Mexican people, and to reveal what is seen in the streets of a country believed to be violent.
