Traditions are known and passed on through word of mouth while slowly evolving with each generation. That may be true for families however photography has seen assimilation into our lives that has changed the way we see the world. So much imagery we see today is based on consumption and advertisements to fill voids we think we have. Images are taken to show the life we are living and to fluff our egotistical needs in the eyes of friends or strangers. When these new rules of engagement of life overwhelm me, I wander off with my camera and just be with myself on a walk to remind myself of how I see the world. Continuing to observe and capture the world, I hope to show sincerity in these instances for those moments of emotion that are fleeting.

All prints were shot on film and hand-printed on 8x10 fiber-based darkroom paper.
