These shots are from an indoor bullriding event. It's a challenging event to shoot with the crummy arena lighting, a perpetual cloud of dust in the air, eat unpredictably of where the bulls will move to, the sheer speed of the twisting animals, and the ever present chance you will have to race to the arena wall with camera gear in tow and scale it before being trampled.
Hopefully, this series gives you a sense of what it is like to be in the middle of "the greatest show on dirt".
I've been going back through my archives, looking for work that can be put together as a series. These were shot in 2003 using a Canon D30 - a 3 megapixel camera that might now be considered an antique. While I may not be able to make large gallery-sized prints from these images, I do kinda dig the "vintage" look they have.
