Anonymity
Intended distortion in a photograph to remove recognition of the people, to remove recognition of the place. This was done through the creation of my own textures composed from my photographs and then arranged in pieces and layers.
All of the photographs were of groups of people taken in natural settings without the use of a tripod and were randomly taken in a street setting. This technique allowed me as a photographer to concentrate both on my skills initially taking the photograph, learning to navigate the quick moving atmosphere of street photography and my fascination with creating textures from photographs that complement and in this project reach the goal set forth to present an anonymous feel within this series of photographs.
Why would one want to look at an unrecognizable person or place within a photograph? Isn’t that reserved for artistic endeavors in genres of expressionism or abstractions? Perhaps, but I wanted to explore photographically.
