I put my finger in the black inkwell not knowing why. Maybe to draw a shadow of an outline and make it exist. Maybe to make one giant shadow without any expression. But then shadows are attached to things and I’m not all here, so that doesn’t work.
All the same I think I’ll experiment with the black ink. I could pretend it’s not black ink at all and make it a cup of hot chocolate. Grab the rest of me and sit down and sip. Long soft sips that make me sleepy. Even if I don’t look it, I am. Heading to dreamland with the rest of me. Follow the strings, it’s a map I made and it helps when I get lost. Sly and the Family Stone was formed in 1967, in San Francisco. The original band members were brothers Sly and Freddie Stone, trumpeter Cynthia Robinson, drummer Gregg Errico, saxophonist Jerry Martini, and bassist Larry Graham. Sly and Freddie's sister, singer/keyboardist Rose Stone, joined within a year.
