Earlier this year, a friend of mine told me a heartbreaking story. He broke up with William, a guy that he devoted his entire heart to. Since then, he started to watch a lot of romance movies and resonate with them which he has never done before and one of the movies was Ghost by Jerry Zucker. As the Righteous Brothers sang "a long, lonely time, and time goes by so slowly", he spent each day as if a year went by. He couldn't go home because he could easily break into tears when he sensed Will's previous presence, saw things Will has touched and couch Will once sat on. Looking back, he had never felt as happy in his life until he met Will. He decided to quit smoking for him which I have told him many times, but he never listened. He wanted to live a healthy life so that he could be with Will till the day he dies-the omnipotent love! However, it didn't last long. No doubt, he was devastated, but that also made him start thinking about the preciousness of love. He told me that by dumping his heart in that relationship, he felt complete even though it didn't end well. Indeed, he didn't blame Will at all. The way that my friend walked me through his memory reminded me of the ending of Ghost when Molly could finally let go of Sam because what she had with Sam was such a tender and beautiful thing. So I decide to make this project dedicated to this friend with his broken heart and his painfully short but preciously joyful memory. Therefore, I name the project DITTO, and of course, that friend of mine is just myself.
