GenderFuck is an exploration of gender definition and gender fluidity. It is also an invitation to rethink ones own stance on gender definition. I have always been been drawn to androgyny because it inspired me to take a second look and question my preconceived notion about gender. Not being certain about a persons gender can create an uncertainty that touches us deep inside, is thought provoking and takes us out of our comfort zone. GenderFuck takes a look between the poles of our chosen binary system of gender. I asked each person who posed, to express themselves in the most ambiguous way – to deliberately create confusion - to revel in an undefined area where anything is possible and becomes acceptable and when one realizes in that moment that both the subject and the viewer are free to chose. The gender lines blur, cross over and sometimes even loop around full circle. The resulting freedom is exhilarating and wildly inspiring.
