What Remains is a series of photographs that have been altered. Maybe we can still discern a human state of mind, a human force or presence within them. But if we can’t, what remains?
What remains in a non altered photograph without any artistic designs?
What was there that we can’t see?
If anything?
What don’t we perceive or feel in that moment that was all around us when the photograph was taken? How can we explore what is in our worlds we so carefully turn our cameras toward?
What Remains is a photographic exploration suggesting that there is so much That does remain, that is present. That we need to understand, to feel.
Yes, we capture a moment in time and we relish what we see.
Yet, there is so much more that was within that moment.
What Remains conceptualizes artistically a call to be aware that it’s not only what is visual in any particular photograph or moment, but also seeing within that moment. Photography is such a relevant way of learning to see what remains, what is present within the moments we capture, for me I am enhancing with art this concept and joining this sensitivity to not only seeing, but being together with the world we photograph.
Please enjoy, Susy
