Inverted (Color)

Inverted UAE is a conceptual photography series that explores our perception of the commonplace through the use of color negative imagery. I first started experimenting with negative imagery some twenty years ago, before digital methods of reproduction existed. For this series I decided to depart from the previous use of monochrome imagery that can be seen in Inverted New York. The geometric forms and predominantly contemporary and modernist architecture of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah lent itself to a fresh approach. This series explores the use of vivid color fields to present a completely new vision of the commonplace.
