America Landscapes
Project info

Initially, this 100 day project was based around the concept of the “Road Trip”, historically I would argue, an-all America institution.

From the landscape paintings of The Hudson River School, Edward Hopper to the likes of Roy Lichtenstein, the literal landscapes of Mark Twain, the Beat Generation and Bill Bryson, musically a huge back catalogue of country & music, photographically encompassing such pioneers as Robert Frank through Stephen Shore to more modern practitioners like Alec Soth.

As with all such loosely defined such projects, this project experienced a series of divergences, such that other threads, repeating patterns and interesting divergences became increasingly obvious the more I immersed myself in the image taking process.

"American Landscapes" is but one interpretation, a project whose aesthetic vision is in part influenced by romanticism of this All America concept.
