Pigalle Basketball

In this series, I photographed a group of about ten people in their mid-twenties, during a spring afternoon, playing basketball on a field in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. The competitive and cohesive spirit of the two teams amused me and immediately made the subject very interesting to me. The subject not only represents a basketball game but much more, it describes a multitude of different individuals who interact with each other. I wanted to try to represent, through sport, humanity and all its faces.
