Eclipse

This is a series of still frames taken from a 35mm short film I shot on the streets of Mumbai (Bombay), 'Eclipse'. All of the portraits in this series are of homeless people living on the streets, I asked each of them to pose for the camera. The concept of this piece is to show the people living on the streets in contrast to the beauty that surrounds them. I feel there's something curious that happened in those moments with the camera, it's like they knew that by allowing me to photograph them, their plight would be seen by the world. Their presence was always compelling.
