these 5 images are all from the 90s and taken with film using a 50mm lens...
I believe that getting close and getting the image before asking permission is the only way I can capture the emotion and beauty I recognize in the moment... I also consider it sort of fair, since I hate sneaking images of people... I never want to belittle a person or show them in a bad light, but this is never easy to communicate in the moment... whenever I recognize a beautiful composition on the street, it starts my heart pounding... and only sometimes do I succeed in getting it properly on film... but the process ALWAYS frightens me, so I consider just taking the image to be a success, and if it proves to be a good image, then I'm overjoyed...
