Pirandello said that “self” and “identity” are concepts that are lost and unachievable in human beings and that all human beings wear a “mask” which hides their identities. The Covid-19 pandemic brought this concept to an extreme forcing people to wear devices disguising people’s identity and turning humans in living masks. On the other hand as noted sociologist Peter Baehr, by putting on a mask, “people communicated their responsibilities to the social group of which they were members and by disguising an individual’s face, it gave greater salience to collective identity.” The project is composed of 16 images with a squared photo ID format.
