Much of the world has been quarantined this year. We look out the windows of our homes, seeing through their filter. The world gets divided up into windowpane-sized chunks, while glass and screens further distort our views.
This project is my reminder to myself that the things which appear to be in the way are often the things that make life beautiful. These photos were all shot through glass or other transparent material, and they all derive their meaning from the relationship of the material with what is beyond it. Instead of being a barrier to a true view of the object, the glass adds additional layers, allowing new and more complex perspectives.
