Another Round Another Race

In recent years, organizational’s initiatives by the carnie’s categories, have voted to stability and the creation of Luna Park. However, the carnies who perform the activity in itinerant form is still high. Referred to as operators of the traveling show, the carnies represent that world of lights, sounds and colors that from an early age look with admiration and who is able to offer moments of pure fun, a jump out of the everyday. The work of carny closely linked to the presence of people, today crosses a stalemate for the crisis that invests primarily goods and services considered accessories or not the priority at a time when families are forced to rationalize expenditure. They are, however, many young people who have decided to continue to play this profession. The commitment and determination are often motivated by a logic family that previous generations handed down the activity and interest in the rides to the next. This photo project is dedicated to carnie’s friends that today continue to do this work in itinerant form. I told their lives inside the amusement park, trying to capture the spirit of these people on the move, with a not programmed life, always new and different, always ready for a new place, a new race, an another round. A way of life in which we must be born to endure it. They welcomed me into their world, revealing a sincerity and transparency that disarm. I met their families, always with them, traveling to the homes, I learned life stories and difficulty, always with a smile on his lips. I carry with me a sentence of Mirko, young manager of a carousel, "[...] a trade with which we are born, we grow, and then at the end you cannot do without."
