For the past two years I’ve been working on a project titled “Notes in Passing”– images made with a tiny point-and-shoot camera. The photos are quick visual notations of what might normally go unnoticed and almost certainly remain unrecorded. The subject matter is made up of what is often seen peripherally, but in some quirky way seemed to demand that I take a head-on look. More often than not, viewers seem to feel that the photos convey a sense of silence and solitude, which is interesting as many of them were shot on noisy city streets.
