At a sandy beach of the southern part of Niigata-city.
Long ago there was a settlement which was sank into the sea by a coastal erosion.
It is a very uniquely and locally natural phenomenon that the sand sinks the houses on the coast side. It has occurred once in several decades.
We call this "Makuridashi" in this area dialect.
As long as the coast erosion continues to occur, there is no permanence to this terrain. This beach is resisting conformity.
These photographs have tried to explore what is the realism with the land, and also approach how the terrain is formed.
