The Melancholy of Objects is a series of portraits of objects I’ve found abandoned on the streets of Southwark, in south-east London.
This was my neighbourhood. I lived there for years and walked these streets almost every day. The streets are full of the stuff of life - discarded, lost and forgotten.
Some of these objects stop me in my tracks with the power of their presence. They seem to want to talk to me, to tell me their stories. These photographs show what I feel they have to say.
