Street Beach.

Street Beach. If we replace the sand of the beaches on the asphalt of the cities, we can find the same neuroses, behaviors and people's tics. Then the traffic and confusion become umbrellas and clothes thrown on the sand; people who look at the sea as if it were a road to cross. With this series of images I have taken a world I know well, the people who live the Mediterranean sea as if it were their own city. The only difference: the partial nudity that often makes the scenes we witness surreal. Once again in my work I intervened in post-production. I wanted to enhance the contrasts of light from the background: the whites of the clouds, of the sea ... the people who break away from the bottom of the scene. As in a jazz song, melody and counterpoints. The theme of the sea, of the beach, is one of the different themes that I have been interpreting for years, developing the evolution of my photographic writing. This work follows a book on the sea, "Blue", which I have already published in Italy in 2005. Massimo De Gennaro Street Beach. Se all'asfalto delle città sostituiamo la sabbia delle spiagge, possiamo ritrovare le stesse nevrosi, i comportamenti, i tic della gente. Allora il traffico e la confusione diventano gli ombrelloni e i vestiti buttati sulla sabbia; le persone che guardano il mare come se fosse una strada da attraversare. Con questa serie di immagini ho ripreso un mondo che conosco bene, la gente che vive il mare Mediterraneo come se fosse la propria città. Unica differenza: la parziale nudità che rende spesso surreali le scene a cui assistiamo. Ancora una volta nel mio lavoro sono intervenuto in post-produzione. Ho voluto esaltare dallo sfondo i contrasti della luce: i bianchi delle nuvole, del mare… le persone che si staccano dal fondo della scena. Come in un brano jazz, melodia e contrappunti. Il tema del mare, della spiaggia, è uno dei diversi temi che continuo a interpretare, da anni, sviluppando l'evoluzione della mia scrittura fotografica. Questo lavoro segue un libro sul mare, "Blue", che ho già pubblicato in Italia nel 2005. Massimo De Gennaro
