We Are in Nature's Web

The intention of my works is to demonstrate our sense of belonging to the natural systems of the Earth; that we are part of nature and not separate. I am responding to concerns of climate warming, extinction threats and ocean levels rising. I create poetic narratives with my photographs of people's tattoos with camera-free images of flora and fauna. I brush palladium on Japanese gampi paper to weave together the images, often in layers as one may work a collage. I sometimes paint with pearlescent watercolor if I see the work calling for this.
