Sarah Hadley is a Los Angeles based artist, whose mysterious and alluring cinematic photo collages are borne out of her love of European black and white films of the 60’s. Her work is an homage to the surrealists, who first employed the technique of combining unrelated images to create startling and insightful connections. Hadley uses photographic elements from different sources to create narratives which are centered on female identity and memory. By intentionally separating and reconstructing her photographs both in and out of the camera, her powerful images address the intimate joys, sorrows, dreams and desires of being a woman in the 21st century.
