I am drawn to photography as a means of expression because it allows me to explore and reinvent ideas, both visually and conceptually. Photography is a powerful storytelling tool as well as an escape mechanism. It allows me to transport the viewer to a different world or challenge the way they see our own world. In both instances, the medium is indispensable for generating important and meaningful conversations.
I try to approach each subject I photograph with childlike enthusiasm and a sense of enchantment. I believe this fresh perspective helps infuse my images with creativity and imagination. Each image represents a novel world and a microcosm of life. My approach to photography echoes the sentiment of the French humanist photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson, who once said that photography has the ability to “reach eternity through the moment.” I hope my images reflect and embody their own universe and I feel fortunate to be able to explore and capture these magical moments.
