Since 9 march 2020, the start of the italian lockdown, a circus is locked in a little town positioned on the jonian coast of South Calabria due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All the artists, operators and circus workers have spent the lockdown into a fenced area where the caravan was placed and fortunately neither of them have shown syntoms of the virus.
Never is changed for them after the end of lockdown. The professionals with VAT have received a 600€ monthly bonus, but all employes are still waiting for the refundancy fund. The expenses necessary to make a circus move are unsustainable without a work plane and the entire sector of circus will be operating from June 15 with the necessary restrictions.
From May 4, I’m documenting the daily life of this community who is looking forward to restart.
