The Inner Core Project is the attempt of showing the deeper inner being of a person by taking pictures with long exposure times.
Participants are asked to do what they think gets them as deeply as possible to the core of their personality. That can be meditation, dance, nature experience or just sitting still. The decision is left completely to the participant. The photographer is merely an observer in an environment that the participant has chosen. No direction is given to the participant during the process.
Photos are being taken in the nude or as little as possible cloths on as possible in order to avoid this additional layer from outside.
The hypothesis of the project is that long exposure photography (exposure times between 1/15 and 1 sec) is able to reveal deeper layers of the personality of a person. So one aim at the beginning of the project was to find out if this hypothesis is correct. Having arrived at a later stage I am now not certain if this goal can be achieved, neither if this is really important.
