What Light Gives the Night
Project info

I was trapped and confined, we all were. It was Spring 2020-the world had shut down. I felt safer at night, and more free. Moving through my neighborhood in Arlington, Massachusetts at night gave me a sense of security, a way to escape the confines of reality.

“What Light Gives the Night” is a walk through a world of quiet, of darkness and lights. We move through the neighborhood guided by lights, from the sky, from street lamps, from windows and houses, where the luminance is the only sign of life.

In the vein of Robert Adam’s “Summer Nights, Walking,” “What Light Gives the Night” takes us on a nighttime tour of a quiet suburban neighborhood made even quieter by a global pandemic.
