Mystery at hand. Holding a piece of my mind. That is what I feel
when I photograph with my inherited SX70. Thoughts, dreams,
feelings that some times cannot be expressed, found and
photographed in my daily life. Yet Polaroid photographs are
autonomous from click to the appearance of the image. It feels
like the camera, the film, interpret what your eyes see and what
appears is what your soul feels looking at the world. I cannot
convey you my idea, I can only show you what I see through my
camera. With Polaroid even more almost what I feel. And this
piece of magical photographic paper also carries these feelings
trapped inside its plastic envelope and iconic frame.
“We can express our feelings regarding the world around us
either by poetic or by descriptive means”, Tarkovsky said.
Polaroid photography, what I try to do, is in itself both. A visual
poetry.
