A new series of my color photographs emerged during the pandemic, when meetings with people and my work with those who were portrayed stopped. My home and garden have become a place of inspiration. The home studio has become not only a place of oblivion from my illnesses, but also a place for "hunting", hunting for the sun's rays. When finally, after a long winter, the sun began to appear more and more often to linger in my studio, and in order to somehow distract myself from the constant pain, I began to photograph the objects that were at hand. Flowers, vases, fabrics, boxes, paintings, mirrors became my new models. The objects were not as important as the play of the sun-rays coming through the blinds of my window and illuminating these objects on the podium. The sun-rays falling in parallel lines seemed to complete the composition, adding an element of magical geometry to the still life and revealing the texture of objects, providing a three-dimensional relief, and also increasing the brightness of the objects' color. The sunbeams became my co-author. My task was only to have time to build a frame before the rays moved to another place, because the sun is moving inexorably. In Holland, the sun is not very fond of its presence, and when it was behind the clouds, I worked "alone", waiting for the life-giving light.
