Clairs de nuit

This serie is a tipping point in my night work. After dealing with tensions and anxiousness between light and shadow, I needed to see the night for itself, without artificial lighting. I went in the country far from the city lights. Walking on a countryroad very late in the night, I made a discovery that brought me a strange feeling of relief : I could feel how the night returns and turns the world inside out, transforming our perception of space, time and thought. I had to move beyond the turbulence of the night in order to see what exists in the parallel universe weightless, suspended in time. I realized that this place - the other side of the night - has always been right there next to me, and reminded me not just a return to infancy but to the feeling, at that period, that time doesn’t exist. These photos are presented in small format (8x12 cm) like miniatures.
