Self-portraiture is a powerful tool yet underutilized method for increasing self-reflection, self-awareness, and self-exploration. It becomes a photographic memoir, a document of exploring my innermost thoughts, moods, and identity when created over time. The project highlights my story of two years of how I survived during the pandemic as an alien in Manhattan. My portraits are drawn from my curiosity and exploration about my pain, sexuality, and sense of place.
