Time Is Where I Stand

When passing through new places I am inundated with images of my surroundings that crowd my mind with layers of visual stimuli. My work tries to capture glimpses of places and experiences that remain in the memory long after I have departed the location. My images are an accumulation of these memories that I have built by exploring the Organ Mountains and White Sands National Park in Southern New Mexico.  Most traditional landscape photography captures the sharp details of a beautiful location creating a monument to the moment the photograph was taken. My work does not seek to capture those moments, instead I choose to find the place where the layers of sky, mountains, time, and memory all intersect creating the experience of place, continuance, and retrospection.
