Tokyo Ginza Street: My Route to School
My photo school is not far from Ginza station in Tokyo and close to the northeastern end of the Ginza Street, which is part of the Central Street and is the main street of the luxury shopping town Ginza. Getting off the train, I usually walk with my camera on the street to the school. On weekend afternoons the street becomes a best field for photographers, for it is closed to automobile traffic and becomes a large pedestrian zone, where I see interesting and curious scenes one after another. Before I started going to the school, Ginza had not been a place for me to visit regularly, which means I was a real stranger there for the time being. As I still feel a sense of incongruity there even after two years and a half, people who see all these photographs might think the photographer took them in his outsider's perspective having fun with discoveries. I admit it.
