Borrowed Landscapes-
These images are all part of a series called Borrowed Landscapes. The original idea for the series came from an interest in fictional literature and the way stories can transport a reader into other places. Often these places come more from the readers own experiences than the pen of the author.
Sub Verses-
This body of work that was predominantly shot in and around Greenham Common but also on location around the south of England and Wales. Being born in Newbury in 1985 I have vague recollections of the base when it was still functioning and explored and played in the area a lot after it was decommissioned. These early memories coupled with research about the reality of the site led to the project Sub Verses. The work contains a mixture of documentary and staged, cinematic images that are displayed in triptychs or ‘verses’ that blur the lines between fact and fiction and re-imagine the UK as a dystopian wasteland.
