It takes a while to settle in when you move to a new country, a new town or a new area, and it takes even longer before you actually settle so much that you start to see your area, to appreciate the little things, to see the beauty in the surroundings and in everyday life. I had lived abroad for 15 years when I returned to Sweden in 2010 and this was the first time I lived in Stockholm. A lot had changed since I left. I had changed. The one thing that had not changed was my love for the fall, the darkness that moves in and gently slows us down after the frenzy of the long summer nights, the colours that are fading yet being more glorious and radiant than ever, the crisp air and the smells. It is intoxicating.
