The Westlake Theatre has been built the 1020's. It was part of a posh neighborhood in the center of Los Angeles.
The Theatre has been converted to a Swap Meet in the 60's. Today the Westlake area is one of the most densely populated parts of Los Angeles.
The area is mostly inhabited by Latinos, Asiatics, and African-Americans.
The MacArthur Park, across the street from the Swap meet is the residence of many homeless people, and fresh arrivals from Central and South America.
