The new Squares
I like to think of this as a series of photos of the new "Piazze D'Italia" of the Italian painter De Chirico : ambiguous , contradictory and somewhat disturbing scenarios. Dry trees, empty spaces that look inaccessible, ordered geometries that seem to hide unknown presences. Everything is suspended, still, like for the waiting for some revelation . Architecture is both the absence and presence, empty and full, as if everything was at the same time both a container and the contents on the inside . Through this appearant emptiness, and the modeling, we freely create all that lies inside us there : the thoughts , both sounds and silences, first and most important , the places where we still treasure our past mental experiences and our deepest feelings.
