As a kid, I idolized street smart characters with bad reputations. Out of frustration from my parentally protected, square-shaped youth...I pushed against straight walls to no avail. The container was square.
...from a sheltered distance I admired girls with feathered hair who snapped gum, wore satin jackets and met boys behind the bleachers to smoke and make out. I observed, I learned and I grew into that part of myself....the woman child who met boys behind the bleachers and meets men on silent, desert roads.
