global architecture / global cities (ongoing)
Since about 2010, my aim is to create pictures of what I call the "global architecture" mainly in megacities: anonymous, post-industrial, quite uniform, and hegemonic. Although one might criticize this urban reality in many ways, I confess being fascinated by the large structures we live with and which dominate our urban environment. As a photographer, I do not so much intend to ‘document’ the urban space or the ‘reality’ of megacities; instead, I am striving to find photographic solutions to cope with the ‘grand form’ of such structures. What counts, is the quality of the picture, not the ‘document’.
