The Kyrgyz are an unknown ethnic group in Afghanistan. These people live in the Pamir mountains. Many of these people have not yet left their homes. To see this people, you have to walk for several days in the hard mountains or with horses and mules. Due to the difficulty of crossing the Pamir Mountains, they don't leave their homes and other Afghans do not visit them. Even many Afghans are unaware of the existence of this people. Their only source of income is raising and keeping a type of cow called a 'Yak". And they provide the basic necessities of life through the Silk Road merchants. Until a few years ago, they didn't use paper money and received goods from traders in exchange for selling cattle and sheep. Such as fabric and some of your basic needs.
The Pamir Mountains are located in northeastern Afghanistan at the end of the Wakhan Valley. To reach the Pamir Mountains, you have to pass through small villages in the Wakhan corridor. Wakhan is one of the longest and most pristine corridors in Afghanistan.
