"Open Sky. Revisiting Public Space" is the name of a series of digital montages, linking together surveillance images from the Romanian communist secret police (Securitate) archives with the current location where the snapshots were taken by the secret agents/photographers, as it looks today on Google Maps/Street View. By putting together two formulas of observation/surveillance, I try to raise the question: how is our impression of the old surveillance images transformed when they are seen through the lens of today’s evolved technologies?
