This project is a vital journey, a search opposite to my generation and a dozen of previous generations, which migrated to big cities (national or international) in search of opportunities.
A project that tells about the depopulation of the rural settings, my starting point being the province of Soria, one of the most affected. Dozens of abandoned entire villages, a land that saw me grow up falling into oblivion, the land of Numancia, where poets like Machado, Bécquer and Gerardo Diego lived, now fighting against time, weather and dust.
This project tells of the abandonment, not just as a physical space but also of a way of life that was integrated with the natural, which coexisted with it without a pretense of domain or to relegate nature to exist only as a park surrounded by concrete giants, a glimmer of life surrounded by the inert.
My course, return to the farm to seek a rebirth at the source. The goal: create uninhabited spaces, abandoned by human beings, places that used to have a practical sense but that dispossessed of their original function are now, only beauty.
Revive them by making a connection between the past and the present, where each image has a proper sense. A search by the most hidden geography: at times existential, sometimes paused, lonely, full of poetry, pictures and elements full of charm and even sense of humor.
They are a history of life, of progress. They were previously; now through this work I intend to that they do not fall into oblivion, as they are showing its melancholy and beauty even as nature and layers of dust bury them.
