Pájaros y Pajareros (Birds and Birdsmen)
Birds competions come from traditions rooted in South Spain, that "Charnegos", the emigrant workers from southern regions, made common throughout the Iberian Peninsula.
A surrealistic relationship takes place between bird and man, swinging from the "machismo" of the competition and of the pride to predominate, to the maternal cares with which the birds are treated. An egocentric passion that, for opposite reasons, forces the dependency between the animal and its owner.
A subtle metaphore of life flows through this bond, and it is on this that this reportage wants to give a deeper insight. Behind the glances and gestures that the characters and their actions offer us, there are hidden allegories to invite to reflect about human condition and commonplaces.
