#BEHINDTHEMASK - People behind masks

My name is Marcel Gregory Stock. Through the pandemic 2020 I had absolutely no work anymore, so I needed to find a way out of that, and I wanted to tell the stories of you and me. The mask requirement; a unique situation in human history, a kind of worldwide veiling of the population. But how are people coping with it? Who does it affect? That's exactly what I show in my pictures. My portraits show 150 people with protective masks and covers of all origins. Regardless of age, nationality, ethnicity, gender, skin color, religion, sexual orientation, culture and wealth; we are all affected. Stories of worries and fears, sadness and hope, all are reflected in the eyes and faces of the images captured in these pictures. Images that get under your skin and stay with you. I traveled through Germany with my camera and two stick lights for a year and was able to photograph and get to know more than 150 great and interesting people. Over 25,000 pictures were taken in over 40 different cities. 150 moving portraits, stories, interviews, statements and wisdom from all over the world, in times of the corona pandemic can now be found in my picture book #behindthemask - people behind masks. A picture book that is already a contemporary document. #behindthemask tells the story behind the mask and shows a cross-section of our society. I want to show the whole world my art at an exhibition. My message: YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
