Convenient Inconveniences

This series titled, Convenient Inconveniences is a visual narrative which examines the dynamics of a modern relationship, fraught with tension, through an emotionally detached point of view. Camera angles, body language, environmental elements and a lack of ability for the viewer to identify the male subject's face are all elements intended to pique curiosity and raise questions within the viewer about the background of this relationship and the events playing out in the images. Image titles expose tension with play on words through double entendre. "Shared Equipment" plays on the idea that the word 'equipment' may refer to either the tools used for fitness (fitness equipment) or the parts used for sex (sexual equipment). In the image titled, "Hand Held Flame", 'flame' represents the alternative definition of 'sweetheart'. In "Toe to Toe" the play on words considers both the perspectives of, 'dancing' toe to toe or 'fighting' toe to toe. Convenient Inconveniences is a loose interpretation of the not so perfect relationship. Two people willing to settle with inconvenience, for the sake of convenience, over potential loneliness.
