I take pictures of nature, both animate and inanimate, but from the angle of a street photographer. For me, everything is alive. I have a deep relashionship with both living and inert beings. Nature seems to speak to me, and I answer back by taking a picture. The picture somehow translates and cristalizes this ongoing conversation.
I try to compose the pciture when I snap it. I rarely dwelve deep into Photoshop. I will modify the picture until I feel that it looks like the original, the way I appeared to me naturally, whn I encountered the subject. I don't spend much time Photoshopying because for most of my amateur career since the 1960's, I was taking black and white pictures, developing the film in Kodak Microdol-X and the paper in Kodak D-76. Alterations then were mininal except for dodging and burning, and contrast control.
So the pictures you see in my submission are either not retouched at alll, or minimally. I will crop some images, because I am limited to a 80 mm lens, and I will alter white balance, exposure and saturation. That's all.
I am glad to have come across Lens Culture, as it allows me to better understand who I am as a photographer.
