Untitled war
This series of photographs started much earlier than the 2020 pandemic and afterwards continued in those months, during the hard days of the war on the borders of my country, and to this day, when war is raging in the heart of Europe.
The endless children’s game in the yard was the signal that made me continue this "game" when in different seasons, at different times of the day I tried to become a "participant" in their game by sticking colored papers or cut ribbons on my room’s window in a Soviet style multi-storey building. Then I started photographing those transparent "still life" images that appeared on the window glass. And then I found out for myself that this "game", in fact, tended to hide the boring face of the multi-storey buildings, to reject the daily life, the pandemic, the war, to erase it.
PS 1: The works submitted to the competition are the photos of the flat collages that appeared on the window glass (with or without an insect protection net) as a result of that “game”, taken with different cameras.
PS 2: Photoshop is minimal; it is not the traditional method of adding/creating new images through editing, but by using the simple tool of color correction.
