St Peter's Italian Church, Clerkenwell.
Project info

These photographs are taken from a larger body of work documenting what remains of the once 12,000 strong Italian Community that lived and worked in small area of London centred around Saffron Hill in Clerkenwell, London. The area's Italian community declined sharply during World War II, and now only a few Italian residents remain. However the area retains links with its past through the continued presence of St Peter's Italian Church, which still draws a large Anglo-Italian congregation from all over London and beyond.
