For at least 40 years, rock and roll was a worldwide phenomenon, with its core spirit of "freedom, peace and love" influencing almost every corner of the world. In the post-2000s world, in the midst of material abundance and peace, rock and roll has gradually fulfilled its mission and has become de-spiritualised and entertaining.
In China, there was also a boom in rock music from the 1980s to 2000, but today, Chinese rock musicians are still in a relatively marginal position in society; few of them have succeeded commercially, they generally come from middle class and ordinary people's families, and in life, most musicians rarely make a living making music. They generally work in jobs such as: music behind the scenes workers, restaurant operators, music teachers, merchants selling musical instruments, advertising agency employees ......
The spirit of rock and roll that once existed has become out of place in the new context of contemporary society. Rock musicians of today are also changing and struggling in the torrent of the times.
This series of my work presents another side of them off stage.
