This project focuses on capturing people in their everyday work life to show meaning and feeling for what they do. Thus the judges will see smiles, frowns, puzzlement, and nonchalance to identify a few expressions. This approach helps to demonstrate that our world of work is as varied as the people who get up each day to participate in an activity that governs their working conditions, standards of living, and wages earned. Work touches every human being regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, or creed.
Despite the upheavals, humanity has one thing in common: the connection to work. It is central to our survival and the ability for us to support our families and contribute to a global existence. These common themes bind us together.
Finally, the purpose of this project was to selectively select people I have photographed throughout my travels across the globe to demonstrate the dignity and importance of the work of all human beings. "Our world of Work" has been twenty-five years in the making, and this series is its first opening toward a larger vision of a book,
